China Family Panel Studies (CFPS) is a nationally representative, longitudinal survey of Chinese communities, families, and individuals launched in 2010 by the Institute of Social Science Survey (ISSS) of Peking University, China. The CFPS is designed to collect individual-, family-, and community-level longitudinal data in contemporary China. The studies focus on the economic, as well as the non-economic, wellbeing of the Chinese population, with a wealth of information covering such topics as economic activities, education outcomes, family dynamics and relationships, migration, and health. The 2010 baseline survey successfully interviewed about 15,000 families and over 40,000 individual, with a response rate of 81.3% at the household level and 84.1% at the individual level. Follow-up surveys were conducted every two years. With our latest survey in 2022, we have completed seven waves of national surveys.

To enrich the survey domains and to keep the survey up-to-date, the CFPS has began to accept added items/modules from the academic communities since 2012. We aim to serve more research needs while maintaining the stability of the core modules.

The CFPS is inviting you to propose new items/modules for the 2024 upcoming survey. Please see Appendix 1 for application guidelines and procedures. All applicants should send the Application Form (Appendix 2) and a CV to isss.cfps AT pku.edu.cn by Jul. 15th, 2023. Applications submitted after this date will not be considered. To inquire further, please contact us at isss.cfps AT pku.edu.cn
