Internet Finance Development Index - Compilation and Analysis

Policy Brief: In order to accurately and timely record the development of China's Internet finance, Peking University Internet Finance Research Center and Shanghai New Financial Research Institute and Ant Financial Group have compiled a set of "Peking University Internet Finance Development Index". The index is based on the massive data of Ant Financial and other representative Internet financial companies, forming a national total index, as well as sub-attributes, sub-businesses, sub-regional indices and other achievements. The national Internet financial development index with a base period of January 2014 was 100, and the national Internet financial development index reached 316.3 in September 2015, which fully confirmed the rapid development trend of China's Internet finance. Through further analysis of the sub-attribute, sub-business and sub-regional Internet financial development index, we can also gain insight into more laws of China's financial development and economic transformation.
