Analysis of China's Residents' Income and Property Distribution Status
Policy Description: According to the National Bureau of Statistics data, Peking University “China Family Tracking Survey” data and related data, since 2002, the income level of Chinese residents has grown rapidly, and the income gap has undergone a process of first expansion and then gradual improvement. In the same period, the per capita net assets of Chinese households have increased significantly, with an average annual increase of 16.4%. The gap in the property of residents has also expanded rapidly. Although it has declined slightly since 2012, it still maintains a high level of operation. As real estate dominates the composition of residents' property in China, the rise in housing prices is the most important reason for the increase in property value and the widening of the gap.
