Sub-topic 1: What do you rely on? Economic support and policy evaluation of old-age care

This section describes the socio-economic status of Chinese seniors in 2011 and 2013 from the two aspects of income and expenditure, including the total status and structural composition of income and expenditure, the gap between income and expenditure, and thus understanding the economics of the elderly. The source of support. On this basis, the public transfer payment is evaluated for the effectiveness of providing pension support and corresponding policy recommendations are put forward.

Sub-subject 2: Assessment of social and economic inequality and social class mobility of the elderly

This sub-project focuses on the inequality of the social and economic conditions of the elderly from the aspects of income, expenditure and wealth, especially the change of inequality in the interim period, that is, the degree of social class mobility.

Sub-question 3: The impact of socioeconomic status, inequality and social class mobility on subjective welfare and evaluation of policy effects

Because CHARLS data provides a good measure of the subjective welfare status of middle-aged and elderly people (self-evaluation health, depression index, life satisfaction), this section focuses on the socioeconomic status, socioeconomic inequality, and social class of middle-aged and elderly people. The impact of liquidity on subjective well-being and the effect of public policy on improving subjective well-being.
