research content

Specifically, the research work of this project is mainly carried out from the following five aspects:

First, carry out “reassessment and definition”. This section will carry out the following two tasks: (1) revaluation of property income; (2) construction of a profit index, which defines the food class.

Second, examine "traits and trends." It mainly analyzes the characteristics and trends of various types of emerging food groups.

Third, focus on the “main cause”. This part will use micro data and macro data to conduct empirical tests to analyze the dominant factors in the formation of the emerging food class. Specifically from the macro and micro levels:

(1) At the macro level, we can use the property income data in the China Statistical Yearbook after 1990 to study the proportion of food profit (property income) and marketization and financial development of the emerging food-rich groups in the provinces (cities). The relationship between factors such as degree.

(2) At the micro level, micro-survey data such as CFPS, CHIPS, CHARLS, CHFS, and CGSS can be used to study the causes of the emerging food class, such as family status, demographic characteristics, education level, and society in a specific period and region. The impact of economic transformation characteristics on the formation of the food class.

Fourth, test the "economic consequences." Divide different groups according to the degree of food profit, and examine the differences in individual behaviors of different groups, such as consumption and employment. At the same time, explore the impact of the emerging food class on economic and social development, such as income inequality, welfare inequality, innovation and economic growth, consumption behavior and inequality, intergenerational mobility, employment and employment The impact of employment creation and other aspects.

Fifth, analyze the relevant policy implications. The relevant research of this project has very important policy implications. Based on the empirical research, the project will analyze the relevant policy implications and provide suggestions for the formulation of China's income distribution policy.
