It is a data collection and data service center supported by major projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. . As a teaching and research entity directly affiliated to Peking University, the Center has long carried out a series of large-scale demonstrations represented by China Family Panel Studies (CFPS) and China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS). Sample, high quality micro survey data collection. The data center will leverage its existing strengths to promote the construction of data collection, data management and services, and think tank research.

The Center think tank aims to build an open, interdisciplinary research platform, aiming to promote the use of scientific quantitative research methods to develop and utilize quantitative data based on high-quality data resources such as CFPS and CHARLS, and to target national economic and social management. The major demand is to actively provide policy recommendations based on empirical evidence for national development.

Through the open bidding method, the central think tanks will preferentially fund a number of research topics, provide research funding, research assistants and office space for the winning bidding, and promote the relevant research results through the think tank platform. The Center think tank also launched a guest researcher project, and invites scholars who are interested in policy-related data research to conduct research in the center. Visiting researchers can receive support from data services and office conditions, and participate in various academic seminars organized by the Center.
